Edumate did not win the iAward but certainly the directors, their partners and selected guests from Edumate schools enjoyed the Gala presentation night attended by nearly 900 national and international guests. The entertainment provided was superb, ‘a true fusion of humans and digital technology’ - sometimes hard to make out which was which! Brilliantly compered by ABC’s James O’Loghlin.More importantly the following comments from Senator Helen Coonan Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts and Sheryle Moon CEO of the AIIA were a real morale booster for all the finalists including ourselves:
“The ICT industry is a key driver of Australia’s wealth and prosperity. And the success of this industry has a decisive impact on the future of Australia’s industrial, social and economic development”.
“The individuals and organizations represented here this evening demonstrate an ability to compete on the world–stage. Their innovative ideas, transformed into high value products and services, are having a positive effect on businesses and the wider community”.
“I congratulate the AIIA, the Australian Financial Review, the CSIRO ICT Centre and MIS Australia for once again organising this celebration of excellence”.
Senator Helen Coonan
“Each year, the ICT industry of Australia comes together to place ICT excellence and innovation in the spotlight at the iAwards.”
“Thirteen years on, the iAwards offers each and every ICT company in Australia the opportunity to be recognised alongside high profile names such as Wotif.com, MYOB and the CSIRO ICT Centre.”
“All of tonight’s iAwards finalists can be proud of their achievements. Simply being nominated as a finalist is confirmation of each company’s world-class ICT innovation.”
