Minister Conroy congratulated Consensus on their success in running the Awards for many years. He is himself passionate about developing the local software industry. “Consensus continues to recognise and develop the local software development industry. There are many examples where doors have been opened on the back of winning an Award,” said Conroy.
The Consensus Software Awards can rightly claim to have achieved significant advantage for previous winners. This has a lot to do with the performance-based judging criteria used to decide the winners, but it also has a lot to do with the fact that a Consensus award doesn’t begin and end with a hand-shake on awards night.
“Our contiuned practice of offering targeted support services to winners and finalists alike, to help them better exploit their opportunities and reach their potential, has added real value and real substance to these awards. We provide assistance and introductions to venture capital, marketing services, industry development and a network of excellent contacts”, said Julian Day, founder & CEO of Consensus Group.
Richard Favero, Managing Director of Soprano Design, who have entered and won Consensus Awards three times said, “The award application process forced our team to brew our thinking to create a clear message for the product capability, performance and innovation. This has been the most valuable element of the awards: “enhancing the description of value”. The rigour of the judging process through a written submission and subsequent presentation ensures the prestige of the Consensus Awards. The questions and subsequent discussions with the judges provides great insight that hours of sales and marketing meetings can only hope to achieve.”
“The Consensus Software Awards are recognised as the pre-eminent awards for software developers across Australia and New Zealand. Judging of the 2010 Awards was conducted by 27 industry experts who judged each product on its own merits and conferred as many awards as they wish. Our judges expressed great satisfaction with not only the quality of the products, but also the professionalism of each presenting finalist”, added Mr. Day.
